some good tips and references from computer arts online
this should be a really great resource when getting some inspiration and ideas for my own portfolio which, to be honest I should have already done! Organization is one of the key factors in portfolio design and a few of the links to examples are really useful>
for example, this site from jon saunders displays the work he has done for companies in a list that is graphically pleasing. Clicking an image associated with their identity will link you to the page dedicated to that commision.
titles
These two are my favourites…
Dexter
True Blood
I think recently I’ve started to look closer at intro’s for movies and tv shows. Not sure why but anyway they interest me.
Video Inspiration
not really sure what this is for, some music video for cool kids… annnyway, its cool. Nice editing, filming. Makes me want to make adverts for things. Like, this just made me want to go out and rollerblade… and also ‘buy’ the Cool Kids “gone fishing” in stores now!
Todayw
I think I learned a fair bit about LCD monitors after spending about 3 hours reading reviews and looking at specifications.
Think I’m bored now though. Still no closer to a decision either. Bedddddddd

IPS
IPS (in-plane switching) was developed by Hitachi Ltd. in 1996 to improve on the poor viewing angle and the poor colour reproduction of TN panels at that time.[4] Its name come from the main difference from TN panels, that the crystal molecules move parallel to the panel plane instead of perpendicular to it. This change reduces the amount of light scattering in the matrix, which gives IPS its characteristic wide viewing angles and good colour reproduction
Initial iterations of IPS technology were plagued with slow response time and a low contrast ratio, but later evolutions have made marked improvements to these shortcomings. Because of its wide viewing angle and accurate colour reproduction it’s widely employed in high-end monitors aimed at professional graphic artists, although with the recent fall in price it has seen in the mainstream market too.
